What is the internal drive?
The inner drive is often referred to as motivation, which is defined as "internal and external factors that stimulate desire and energy in people to become continuously interested in and committed to a function, job, or subject, or to strive to achieve a goal."
In essence, inner drive is the force that pushes you to keep working to achieve your goals and get the life you want. Unfortunately, not everyone possesses an inner drive or has the motivation to accomplish their goals. While some people find it easy to be motivated, others are not so lucky and find it difficult. Despite the importance of motivation in life, many people do not possess this quality for a variety of reasons. Others may suffer only the occasional loss of motivation. If you are one of those people who don't believe they possess the inner drive, here are some reasons why you may lack it.
Ignorance
You may not realize that you lack motivation in your life. You may have the misconception that everything is going well in your life. You may think that everything you can't achieve in life is simply unattainable and that you leave the rest to chance. Unfortunately, if you ignore your lack of motivation, you will find it very difficult to achieve your goals and find success.
Depression
Another powerful force that can lead to a lack of inner drive is depression. If you are depressed, you naturally lose interest in your surroundings and other things. This can degenerate into a lack of motivation. According to experts, one of the most common symptoms of depression is anhedonia. This is nothing more than a lack of interest in any activity, especially activities that used to be enjoyable. The impact this can have on your lack of motivation can lead to failure in achieving your goals.
