The Eldridge House is not like other haunted houses. It does not have the smashed windows that stare out like eyes at the world, its windows have never been smashed. Nobody in Moulton would dare. For generations the house and its grounds, laid with gravel and slate, have haunted the nightmares of the towns's residents. Bound up in myth, urban legend and folklore it is a monolith, terrifying and unapproachable.
Until that is an outsider arrives in town. Undaunted by the local folklore he determines to unpick the houses' terrible history and the stories that have grown up around it, to test the limits of the folklore and if need be to dismiss and disprove the stories completely.
