Zack Loran Clark is an American author and editor. He is best known for The Lock-Eater and The Adventurers Guild trilogy, co-written with Nick Eliopulos.
Clark grew up in Florida and developed a passion for fantasy stories. He became an avid Dungeons & Dragons player and found inspiration in role-playing games. He later studied writing and moved to New York to work in publishing.
His debut novel, The Adventurers Guild (2017), was co-written with Eliopulos and drew heavily on their gaming experiences. "We both kind of started as players, honestly," Clark said of their writing process. He focused on world-building and designing the guilds and magic system, while her storytelling remained flexible.
Clark went on to write The Lock-Eater, expanding his work beyond collaborative projects. His books balance adventure and fantasy, appealing to young readers and D&D fans alike.
"I don't think I've ever played a non-mage character in over ten years of gaming," he once said, reflecting his love of spellcasters.
In addition to writing, Clark is a co-DM for a long-running D&D game.
Zack Loran Clark lives with his husband and their dog in Brooklyn.
