Children are eager to show off their scars

because they like to receive loving attention from others.

But if you look closely, adults are just the same.

When you are hurt or struggling,

when you are sad or depressed,

don’t always keep it to yourself;

at times, bare your wounds like a child

and say, “I am in pain.”

to make their parents happy by being “good.”

by living in accordance with the demands of others, we unwittingly neglect our own desires and needs.

The feelings inside you will not easily disappear just because you decide to suppress or ignore them.

“It’s difficult for me to do it on my own.
Could you please help me out?”

Only if you are happy will you be able
to make those around you happy.

Like yourself for making an honest effort.
And continue to have faith in yourself.

Don’t think you are lovable only
when you succeed at what the world demands.
You are already worthy of love.

Don’t let your difficult past
define who you are today.

If you do, you will live your whole life
as a victim of the past.
