Social catering on the other hand is for smaller groups of clients and typically not for big companies.

You could cater a nice breakfast one morning with simple things like bacon and eggs and then cater a five star reception the next night

Corporate catering is somewhat of a blanket type. You’re going to need to know how to do a little bit of everything in order to make this one work.

This means you’re going to need a diverse menu that will work through a lot of different types of occasions. You’ll also need to know how to handle different styles of presentation to fit each event.

Corporate, social and institutional catering are considered the ‘umbrella categories.’ This means that all the rest of the types fall under one of these more generalized types.
