Slavery goes along the history of modern civilization from the oldest times till nowadays. The author of this book reviews the history of slavery from the ancient states of Egypt, Lybia, Greece, and Rome through Medieval Europe to the United States. Despite the presence of this phenomenon in different historical periods, the author states that slavery is not inherent in human society but is the offspring of social derangement and decay.
