    Lee had her studio in what had been the master bedroom of her apartment. She put up her guests in what was once the maid’s room off the kitchen.

      Krasner often cooked for me when I visited. She taught me how to make her pesto sauce (with fresh basil ground together with pignoli and olive oil), which she served slathered over broiled bluefish, an inexpensive fish very commonly caught in local waters.
