As for me? To my left, on a blanket on the grass, I had a full plate of food and an ice-cold beer. And to my right? I glanced down at the fingers entwined with mine. I had the most important thing of all.

A hand reached out to me, and I took it, letting Theo lift me to my feet. He looked deep into my eyes, his own filled with tears.
“Remember what Dean said? Love will triumph over hate.”
I wiped my tears away. “He’s right. Love wins.”
Theo nodded. “Love wins.”
Our team surrounded us.
“Love wins,” Grant said. “Love fucking wins. And you know what? Today, we win. Let’s do this.”

“That’s quite disturbing.”

“Come over here a minute.” I led him past the kebab shop to the alleyway entrance. He raised a brow.
“You want me to go down a dark alleyway in this part of London? We could get stabbed.”
“If we survive, I might stab you with my sword later.”
He smirked at me. “Now there’s an offer I can’t refuse.”

“So that’s it, then,” Jordan said when everyone else had left. “There’s no turning back now.”
“No turning back. Only forwards. One step at a time. One day at a time.” I leaned my head on his shoulder. “Whatever happens, I’m so glad we have each other.”
“Me too. You don’t have to go through anything hard alone anymore, Theo. You’ve got me now.”
“I know.” Whatever came next, we’d face it together.
