Kyle D Evans is a British mathematics writer and performer. He is best known for using humour to present mathematical ideas. Evans is the author of several maths books for general readers. His first book, Maths Tricks to Blow Your Mind (2021), explores viral maths problems from social media with clear explanations. His other books include Poems & Paradoxes (2021) and A Year in Numbers (2023).
Kyle D Evans was born in the UK. He trained as a mathematics teacher and worked in schools. He later combined teaching with writing and performing maths-based shows.
Evans has said, "I have taken shows for different age groups to all corners of the country. He has performed in schools, libraries and comedy clubs. He also took his shows to cake shops and festivals, including the Edinburgh Fringe and London's Science Museum. He has performed at the Royal Institution in London.
In 2016, Evans won Famelab UK. He won Best Stand-Up at the Swindon Fringe in 2018. He has been nominated for Best Family Show at the 2020 Leicester Comedy Festival.
Evans has appeared on BBC Radio 4's More or Less and BBC Breakfast. He once had a song about the Riemann Hypothesis turned into a local radio jingle, which he described as "surely a world first."
