The Ethiopian Bible – Annotated Modern English Edition

For centuries, the Ethiopian biblical tradition preserved sacred writings largely unknown to the Western world. Texts of vision, wisdom, resistance, prayer, and prophecy guarded within one of Christianity’s oldest living canons.

This edition gathers the core Ethiopian apocryphal and wisdom books—Enoch, Jubilees, Meqabyan I–III, Sirach, Ascension of Isaiah, Psalms of Solomon, and Baruch—presented in a complete modern English translation with structured commentary.

Unlike mass-market compilations built on quantity, this collection is carefully curated and fully annotated. Each text has been translated into clear, dignified contemporary English while preserving the solemn rhythm and theological depth of the originals. Commentary is provided separately, guiding readers through historical context, symbolic imagery, and spiritual themes without overwhelming the text itself.

Within these writings you will encounter:

The cosmic visions and angelic mysteries of Enoch
The sacred calendar and covenant theology of Jubilees
The Ethiopian Meqabyan tradition of faith and endurance
The disciplined wisdom of Sirach
The layered heavens and hidden descent of the Ascension of Isaiah
The messianic longing of the Psalms of Solomon
The exile prayer and wisdom meditation of Baruch

This is not an 88-book compilation. It is a focused, editorially refined collection of the most influential Ethiopian apocryphal and wisdom texts—presented with clarity, coherence, and reverence.

Whether you are a scholar, a seeker, or a listener drawn to ancient Scripture, this edition offers a faithful and immersive encounter with the Ethiopian biblical heritage—restored in language for today, without sacrificing the weight of antiquity.
