Debbie Ioanna

Debbie Ioanna is a British author based in Bradford, Yorkshire. She writes romantic comedy and paranormal horror fiction. She is best known for her novel One Hot Summer (2024).

Ioanna began her career as an independent author. She wrote her first book, The Runaway Girl, at age sixteen. She kept this novel and a short story collection self-published.

In 2015, Ioanna began studying with the Open University. She worked full time while writing on the side. She graduated in 2021 with a degree in History and Creative Writing.

Ioanna later became a traditionally published author with Bloodhound Books. She wrote several successful romantic comedy novels. Her earlier novel, Blind Date, preceded One Hot Summer. She also writes paranormal horror under her own name.

Her horror novel, Abberton House, became an Amazon bestseller. It remained on the bestseller list for several weeks. Ioanna has said she plans further horror fiction in future.

In 2024, Ioanna published One Hot Summer through Bloodhound Books. The novel follows two best friends, Jenny and Sarah. Jenny has recently settled into a happy relationship. She turns her attention to helping Sarah find love in return.

Sarah is recovering from a recent heartbreak in the story. She is described as attractive both inside and out. Despite this, she struggles to find lasting romantic connection. She refuses to settle for anyone but "The One."

The novel follows the pair through a series of comic setups. It explores enduring friendship alongside romantic mishaps. Reviewers compared the tone to Joanna Bolouri and Jo Platt. The book has been described as heartwarming and riotous throughout.

Alongside writing, Ioanna maintains an interest in antique books. She regularly searches antique bookshops for rare literary finds
