b. Boiling in Water
• The way to purify meat that has been contaminated with filth is to remove its inner parts and boil it in clean water three times, changing the water each time. In this way, the filth inside the meat will be removed by the hot water and it will be purified.

• Visible filth is washed until its stain, that is its presence, odor and color, has been eradicated. The number of times it is washed is not important.

• Physical dirt can be purified with pure water, like that from rain, streams, wells and the sea, and by conditional water,20 like flower water, rose water, or vegetable and fruit juice. When there is no water, even water which has been used for ablution can be re-used for cleansing.

How can One Purify from Ritual Dirt?

Yet, if someone previously had tattoos and later learns that they are not permissible in Islam, that person need not harm them selves by removing them unless the tattoo was of something obscene or a symbol opposed to the religion.

and even warned that those who made tattoos or those who had somebody else do them would be the object of malediction.
