A debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives.

«Gripping, enthralling—a top-notch thriller and a compulsive read.»—S. J. Watson, New York Times–bestselling author of Before I Go to Sleep

Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She's even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost. And then she sees something shocking. It's only a minute until the train moves on, but it's enough. Now everything's changed. I hated all of the characters in this book. But that didn't stop me from finishing it in less than 12 hours.

After viewing all of the good reviews about this book, it was my time to read it. I have to say that it was as good as I expected not that I expect much. But I did enjoy reading it, and I couldn't put it down. Found myself at work wondering what was going to happen with this woman whose life seems to be a complete mess. I would recommend it for a long time to anyone I know. Rumor has it there is a movie to come. Fingers crossed cause I absolutely love Gone Girl.

I was so into this Rachel character, I felt like I was her.

Life is not a paragraph, and death is no parenthesis.

I am not the girl I used to be. I am no longer desirable, I’m off-putting in some way. It’s not just that I’ve put on weight, or that my face is puffy from the drinking and the lack of sleep; it’s as if people can see the damage written all over me, can see it in my face, the way I hold myself, the way I move.
